Welcome to the UNICELL product exhibition: Willing Suspension ('artistic' renditions of products in development shown at Gallery Chemould 6- 26 Aug 2005

This exhibition showcased 'artistic' renditions of The UNICELL Public Works Cell's current product-in development. This set of UNICELL designs are meant to ease the inconvenience, commuters have to bear with; while traveling on the Mumbai suburban trains. UNICELL has designed a series of hold-on devices ('Commuter Attachment Systems') for optimal train travel, namely " Vacuum mechanisms to aid travel on the outside of the train during the rush hour, like handles, finger grips and foothold accessories. " The 'Locomotion Course' which is made up of four basic choreographies. These are customized for entrance or exit depending on whether the commuter enters and/or exits the train from the east side or the west side. This course in footwork can make one a skilled commuter on the western line of the suburban local trains in Bombay. R and D is underway for similar courses on the Central and Harbour lines.
